Can Google Split?

Yesterday, the EU finalized DMA and DSA laws.

According to DMA, content gatekeepers would have to allow users to remove pre-installed software. They wouldn’t be able to treat their own products/services more favorably in the rankings anymore.

Apple has been fined by the EU for favoring its own apps in the app store search. A similar fate could await Google since it enjoys #1 search engine status partly due to its Chrome browser. Google also pays Apple to keep Chrome the default browser on iOS.
